Polymer Clay News:

§ The Guild's first meeting of 2001 was very productive. Paula provided a demonstration on signature canes and Mike Buesseler's metallics video was reviewed. Thank you Paula, for the demonstration. Members created some wonderful signature canes that I hope to see on future swap creations.
§ Due to other commitments, Amy will no longer host Guild swaps on a regular basis. Diane has graciously offered to host the February swap. Thank you Diane! We will look to Guild members to host swaps each month. Each swap meister will set their own rules for their particular swap.
§ Dottie McMillan's first polymer clay book has a tentative publish date of late Spring, 2001.
§ SaraJane Helm's polymer clay book is due for release in August, 2001.
§ Rumor has it that Pier Voulkos will be speaking at Bead Designer. Maureen will keep us informed of a possible class offered by Pier.

Favorite Web Sites:

§ Paula recommends Elizabeth "The PolyParrot's" web site. This site provides great information on mudpile Mokume gane, bargello and skinner blends. Check it out: http://thepolyparrot.com/index.html
§ In honor of viewing Mike Buesseler's metallics video, I recommend that you also visit his web site at

Show and Tell:

§ Diane was busy during our holiday break. She shared beads, beads and more beads! Diane has been experimenting with Art Institute Glitter with wonderful results. Diane also shared some lovely bottles for the Bottles of Hope project.
§ Meredith shared kaleidoscope beads and votives covered with a chrysanthemum cane. Beautiful work.
§ Emily brought beads from Africa (please correct me if I'm wrong, Emily.)
§ Bonnie showed off a votive made for her by Emily and a pin she (Bonnie) received in the secret swap.

Diane will host the swap for February. She will send additional information to members.
